Research methods

A claim is only as useful as its test.

CIMM Systems uses a staged research process designed to preserve traceability from an initial question through testing and publication.

01

Define

State the research question, proposed mechanism, assumptions, predicted result, and conditions that would count against the idea.

02

Review

Search relevant prior art and established methods; separate known results from new interpretation and speculation.

03

Protocol

Record inputs, versions, controls, measurements, comparison methods, and acceptance criteria before interpreting results.

04

Test

Retain raw outputs, failed runs, anomalies, and parameter changes rather than reporting only favorable results.

05

Analyze

Compare observations with predictions, quantify uncertainty where possible, and examine reasonable alternative explanations.

06

Report

Publish methods, results, limitations, evidence level, and revision history together.

Evidence levels

Language should match the maturity of the work.

Materials are identified as concept, hypothesis, computational simulation, prototype result, replicated result, independently reviewed work, or validated finding. Moving between levels requires new evidence—not stronger wording.
